Ahh… I can remember the days when yellow page directories still hung from pay phone booths and toys were made from lead. Yes I still have one somewhere around here just for nostalgia. Oh yes there it is under my trash can in the back office waiting to be recycled.
I am amazed that business owners are still willing to shell out thousands of dollars each year to be in these antiquated telephone directories. These same business owners tell me that spending $2500 or more a month to get to the top of Google and Bing for their key words is way too much money. What in the world is going on here you may ask?
The yellow page companies are feeling the pinch as well. Over the last five years I have enjoyed watching as these yellow page companies have virtually overnight morphed into web development companies who claim to know all about search engines. Funny stuff right there, I don't care who you are. They are selling into these poor customers who "drank the koolaid" these ridiculous packages for Web Design, Hosting and SEO services. The sites look terrible, are not even ranked well in the search engines and then the customer is left with some misleading monthly analytic report to supposedly prove it's worth it. For those of you going this route, it's not too late! Call me and we can go over a better long term game plan that will save you thousands over the life of your business. Option 2 - Just wait and stick with paying gobs of cash to the yellow page company in hopes that it is working like they say it is. Trust me not only will you be late to the SEO game, you will have missed it all together my friend. Let me explain myself.
In every technology shift there is a life cycle to adopt the new technology. You have the ones pioneering the way – Google, Apple, Facebook – you get the idea. Then there are those who just can’t see the value of a mobile phone and still have a rotary sitting on their desk.
I honestly think that we are just before the tidal wave of business owners figuring out that they are late to the game when it comes to hiring a Search Engine Optimization Company or SEO Consultant. It is going to be a serious problem for many that arrive late in the game as their competition will have already "owned" them in the SEO arena.
So the next time you think I can’t afford to hire a Professional SEO Company – you really can’t afford not to!
Getting your site to the top of Google, Bing and Yahoo can change your life.
